I took a jewelry making class in high school and instantly loved it, though I haven't been able to explore this interest more until after graduating from university. I started out by creating jewelry for myself and wearing it in public. People would compliment me and ask where I got it so often that I thought I should get my own little jewelry making business started! So here I am doing just that :)
I love aluminum sheet metal because it looks like silver but for a fraction of the price, so I can keep the price of my jewelry low. My usual process is: cutting the sheet metal with metal sheers, drilling in holes, sanding down the edges and the surface itself to give an extra shimmer, and interweaving the pieces with waxed cotton string or jump rings.
